Managing and Conducting Internal Audit based on ISO 9001:2026 Requirements and ISO 19011:2026 Guidelines
ISO 9001:2026 Clause 9.2 requires your organization to conduct internal audits at planned intervals, using auditors who are objective and impartial to the process they audit. Any organization certified to ISO 9001, or preparing for certification, needs trained internal auditors.
This ISO 9001:2026 internal auditor training course covers how to plan, prepare, conduct, report, and follow up internal audits of a quality management system. You audit against the requirements of ISO 9001:2026 and follow the guidelines of ISO 19011:2026 for audit programmes, audit methods, and auditor competence. The course runs over two days and ends with an exam. Participants who pass receive a TÜV Rheinland Certificate of Completion.
What is ISO 19011:2026?
ISO 19011:2026 is the fourth edition of the international guideline for auditing management systems. ISO published it on 27 May 2026 to replace ISO 19011:2018. As a guidance standard it applies immediately, with no transition period. The 2026 edition expands guidance on remote and hybrid audits, virtual locations, the use of artificial intelligence in auditing, risk-based audit planning, information security of audit evidence, and the digital competence auditors need. ISO 19011 is not a certification standard. Organizations are not certified to it. It describes how to audit any management system standard, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, which makes it the basis for combined and integrated internal audits.

What changed from ISO 9001:2015 to ISO 9001:2026?
The 2026 edition keeps the clause structure of 2015 and adds requirements on quality culture and ethical behaviour, climate change in the context of the organization, the separate treatment of risks and opportunities, and the prevention of human error. Requirements
No formal prerequisite. ISO 9001:2026 Quality Management System Awareness Training or working knowledge of the ISO 9001:2026 requirements is recommended. Participants without it follow the Day 1 overview of the standard.
